Cask at the 2020 Manchester Beer Festival. Amber pour,no head. Toffee,orange liqueur and malt loaf aroma. Flavours of citric peel,dried fruit,orange toffee. Lots of warming alcohol in the close.

Cask (handpump) @ MBCF17 [ Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2017 ] Manchester Central Convention Complex, Windmill Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, England M2 3GX. [ As Blackjack Barley Wine ].Clear medium orange amber colour with a small to average, open and frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, caramel, light butterscotch. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, candy, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170119] 7-3-7-3-14

Manchester Beer Festival 2017. Dark amber and very strong, but only with a mild sweetness to it.

Light brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have some aniseed sweetness. Also a touch of caramel too.
