12 ounce bottle from a sampler from Sendik's Marquette. Black, large fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of roast, oats, chocolate. The taste is roasted malts, oats, chocolate. Medium bodied, creamy, smooth. Nice stout.

Bottle courtesy Drake - many thanks!! Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is faint, but what's there is coffee, milk chocolate, caramel. Flavor is slightly creamy chocolate, coffee, nuts. An easy stout - not complex, a bit thin but tasty.

Imperial pint at MAH. Big, rusty beige head. Brown-black body. Somewhat underwhelming for a Stout, needs some more chocolate depth. Very caramelly. Watery, doesn’t really nail the style.

I am not sure what the big deal is with this ordinary stout. Black with a small layer of foram. Aroma is heavily roasted malt, with light traces of coffee and oatmeal, with burnt popcorn. Flavor is of bitter grain also, no perceivable hops. It is drinkable enough, but perhaps they went to far with the malting. Good, full palate.
