Bottle from the brewery. Almost black with a small tan head that lingers. Nose is prominent chocolate and coffee with vanilla, caramel and some dark fruits in the background. Very light sweet toffee start is quickly followed by a big bitter middle of cocoa and coffee and a long bitter finish. Mouth is medium creamy with soft carbonation. Another Barnstormer bottle that seems too light in the mouth for the style. Otherwise, nice tasting stout.
