To celebrate the arrival of the Flying Scotsman locomotive on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in 2016, we brewed a 70/- bitter. A fitting tribute to an engine that was born in Doncaster (our brewers home town) and took thirsty Scots home for a pint of heavy each day.

Served from wood barrel at York Beer & Cider Festival 2022. Deep amber gold colour, some off-white bubbles on top and aroma of malt, caramel, chocolate. Taste is malt, caramel, roasty, with earthy nutty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry malty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask (gravity) @ 34th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2017, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Breworks Great Scot ].Clear medium orange colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, caramel, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, pale malt, caramel, sweet malt, tart notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20171208] 5-3-5-3-10
