Cask handpump at The Ale House, Chelmsford. Dark ruby brown colour, with a light brown head. Full bodied. Strong chocolate aroma. Enjoyable, but rather too bitter finish.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS! Dark brown opaque beer, decent bubbly tan head. Not that Amber then! Palate is light and dry and low carbonation. Mild tangy dark malt. Touch of unsweet dark chocolate. Whisper of roast. Tang resolves in to generic dark fruits. Mild bitterness in the semi dry finish. Not bad, fresh tasting and fairly rich porter.
