Cask from the wood, halfpint, at the SPBW 1st National Woodfest, Castleford. ABV was said to be 4.2%. Brewed with Sovereign bittering hops, American hops for the finish. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Small beige head. Very nice aroma of chocolate and caramel. The flavour is somewhat drier than expected, moderately roast malts, earthy, with hints of chocolate and liquorice.

On cask at Woodfest 2017 Castleford - Dark black body, thick tan head. Nose is dusty wood shavings, smoke, coffee, some ripe fruits in there too. Taste is again very dusty, some sweet liquorice hint there, lots of cake fruit. Helped a lot by the wood cask. Nice.
