Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Dark brown and a little translucent with a small khaki head and fair lacing. Coffee grounds aroma, a little bit of liquorice, some plummy notes. Taste is sweet and rich, with liquorice almost overpowering the coffee. Bitterness in the finish. Big body, soft carbonation. Pretty damn good.

6/2/2024. Cask at Hamilton Hall, London Liverpool St. Pours black with a modest frothy light beige head. Good looking beer. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, light roasted malt, vanilla, slight ashy edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, smooth, soft carbonation. Decent beer.

Cask at MS High Wycombe, 20/12/23. Black with a good sized khaki head formed of thinly knit bubbles. Nose is light coffee bean, dark malts, mellow roast, cocoa powder. Taste comprises dark malts, light charr, toffee, brown bread, mellow coffee notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Okay coffee cask affair but comes over rather thin for 5%.

Cask at Mad Squirrel, St Albans, Herts. A very dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige bubbly head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee aroma & taste. A pleasant enough porter but very thin. Good to have it on cask.
