Black beer, thick tan head. Smell has malt and dried fruit, a little sour. Flavour is acidic and fruity up front, a bit tart, but then you get big malty notes, slightly bitter chocolate, an earthiness. Nice body, well balanced. Interesting and very tasty beer.

On tap at Kernel taproom, Bermondsey, London. A very dark brown/black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel aroma & taste. Slight sourness, well executed porter.

Keg at Mother Arch ii, 01/12/23. Black with a khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl and edgework. Nose is dried fruits, earthy, buggy notes, mellow roast, cocoa sprinkle, baking powder, damp oak. Taste comprises dried red berries, modest funk, less sour than the nose suggested, cocoa powder, cherry skins, earthy roast, vinous, dried fruit tang, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a tangy edge. Solid porter ... some good levels of complexity going off here.

Tap at the brewery taproom bermondsey arch 7. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting loose mid tan head. Aroma is nice rich earthy roast, liquorice, green apple, charred barrel, light tart tang. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, tangy liquorice, balsamic, black roast, tangy green apple, spicy, prickly.
