The canelé (or cannelé) is a traditional French pastry from Bordeaux with a soft custard center flavored with vanilla and rum, and a crispy caramelized crust. Vanilla being Rob’s favorite ingredient, we had to turn this delicious treat into a rich dark stout. By freeze-distilling it we intensified it’s rum, vanilla, and caramel flavor and created a beautiful 17% sipper.

Smell-medium strong to strong, malt, coffee, vanilla, caramel, cake, rum, alcohol, sweetness, burned sugar. Foam- Head is medium to large, dark brown color. Medium thick, roast, coffee, malt, caramel, alcohol, sweetness, vanilla, booze. Appearance-quite simple can, but I like it, so bonus point. Black color, no carbonation I think. From - stout glass Price - 13? euros for 0.44l Taste-malty, caramel, sweet, coffee, rum, alcohol, roast. Strong, toasty, and sugary stuff, definitely can feel the 17%. One of the better high alco ones I had.

440 ml can. Pours black with moderate tan head. Aromas of thick chocolate, vanilla, and rich roasted malts. Flavors of alcohol (rum?) dry dark chocolate, kahlua, espresso and rich roasted malts. Alcohol is strong in the finish. Huge can for the ABV - plan to share!

Solid, but not superb. It isn’t too sweet, which is good, but has a little ashy taste, which is okay but not a bold and complex as one might expect. Arendsnest ams
