Made in conjunction with beer writer Andy Hamilton as part of his new book, Brewing Britain, this deep red Scotch Ale was brewed using juniper smoked malt and berries. They impart a warming smoky flavour with comforting sweet roasted chocolate notes. Definitely one for Autumn.

Cask gravity at the Watford beer fest 2013. Aroma is armpit, sweet mapel, flavour is salt and vinegar crisps, slight sweet worty. Medium body, light carb. Not for me.

Cask at Watford Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear dark copper colour with a thin white head. Big toffee aroma with some light peat and dark fruits. Good mouth feel. Definite smoked malt, not too overpowering leads to balanced sweet carmel, dates and chewy malt.
