Border Hopper is an collaboration between the brewers at Fanø Bryghus in Denmark and Simian Ales in Germany. This spring ale is brewed with Nelson Sauvin, Galaxy, and Simcoe hops provide a beautiful and light fruity flavor. Balanced and sensible, Border Hopper is a throwback to a simpler time. A time when the notions of travel and collaboration were thought of as strengths and their results were enjoyed as rewards. On tap at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg, as Border Hopper Spring Ale. 0,3 l for 5,50 €. Unclear orange golden with a nice white head. Floral hop on the nose. Taste starts with a strong floral hop bitterness. Increasing malt, low carbonated. Pleasant bitter aftertaste. Nice one.

Bottle from the brewery. Cloudy amber, thick offwhite head. Citrusy, grapefruity aroma with malty backing. A little grassy and slightly floral. Flavour has mild grassy and piney hops, caramel and only a discrete hint of NS-hops. Body is rather light. Decent bitter finish.

Tap @ Hantwerk as "Fanø Border Hopper", 5%. Hazy dark amber with medium tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, hop, pine and grapefruit. Flavour is malt, caramel, little toasted, medium sweet, hop, little peach, little pine, grapefruit, little dry and medium bitter.
