[ As Pyynikin Barley Wine ].Clear dark brown colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, caramel, dark dried fruit, raisin, date, wood, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, dried fruit, raisin, dates, alcohol, buzzy, dark malt, caramel, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20170408] 7-4-7-4-12

(Keg at HBF2017) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, banana and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, toffee, ripe banana, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A rather tasty barley wine. Aging might improve.

Tap @ hbf 2017. Poured mahogany color with a thin white head. Raisiny, plummy, woody aroma. Flavor has plums, booze, malts, dark bread. Very sweet, sticky almost.

Draught@SOPP Helsinki 2016. Deep amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some berries, alcohol and mild ripe fruits to it as well. Flavour is fruity, wooden, rather boozy and some raisins along with a rather big bitterness in the finish.

Tap at Pub Winston, Pori. Dark amber-brown color, small steady beige head. Aroma has caramel, alcohol and hops. Full-bodied. Sticky mouthfeel. Toffee, alcohol, heavy malts. Sweet and sticky but with lots of potential.

Tap at Winton Festival, Pori. Colour is cloudy brown with very small white head. Aromas and flavors: Chocolate, rye bread, syrup, raisins and malts. Nice surprise. Pretty good Finnish barley wine. Props for pyynikki.
