Our flagship beer since 1992. Citrus and pine aromas harmonize with lightly toasted malts to produce the original India Pale Ale of Mt. Hood.

Cascadian pale was a little more intense on the hops than this one. Golden pour with good head and lacing. Some lime but hop profile is pretty light here. Light bitter finish with some pine resin. Cloying resin tang in finish. Tap at brewery.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. A nice tropical fruit hop nose. The flavor is light toast, citrus, melons, some passion-fruit. Solid IPA.

Draft pour half pint at Horse Brass. Clear copper color pour with a quick fade head. Grain heavy aroma and flavor. Not a whole lot of interesting hop character. Bitter finish. Not a great IPA for me, but somewhat refreshing.

Draught at the brewpub
Hazy light amber color with creamy head. Even for a beer with expectations, the malt profile is not expressive, simple, with light caramel; the hopping level is not in line with 21st century IPA’s, nor it has the PNW qualities, just a tiny bit of resins and citrus fruits.
Easy.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange color with a thin and creamy light beige head that diminishes quickly. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops and toasted malt. Medium body with flavors of grassy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is hoppy with a short bitter aftertaste. Decent overall.

Deep amber coloured body with a nice perfect tan head! Lighter hop aroma with mostly bitter scents and some malt tucked in. Medium-bodied; Decent hop taset with a nice balance throughout. Smooth aftertaste - almost like an APA. Nice start for my first beer ever in Portland. I sampled this beer on draught at Henry’s 12th Street Tavern in Portland, Oregon on 09-September-2006!
