Bottled. Beetroot red colour with no head. Aroma is honey, blackcurrant and some mild wooden tones. Flavour is blackcurrant, honey and some slight alcohol sweetness. Somewhat dry, but still very sweet.

We believe it's a 150ml pour from 750ml 😁 Shared with Ryan. Appearance: a bit hazy copper with no head. Aroma: mostly generic berries (not really a black currant), some honey and booze. Taste: along the same lines, fairly dry. Overall: just ok, nothing special.

Poured from bottle. Clear-ish red. A bit of black currant, but thin in body and slight astringency on the tongue.

Bottle 750ml. @ MBWF 2017 [ Malmö- Öl & Whiskyfestival 2017 ], Malmömässan, Mässgatan 6, 215 32 Malmö, Sweden. [ As Mjödhamnen Svarta Tranan ].Clear medium to dark brown red colour with a small, fizzy and open, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy honey, moderate cranberry, wood. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light light acidic with a long duration, honey, cranberry, tart berry notes. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20170311] 8-3-8-3-16

Bottle. Pours a dark red color with no head. Has a fruity spicy black currant aroma. Sweetish spicy dry black currant and honey flavor. Has a spicy black currant and honey finish.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 26 Sep 2014) Dark red colour with no head. Fruity nose with honey, cranberries and black-currant. Fruity, slightly tart taste with notes of black-currant, cranberries and a light sweetness in a slightly tart finish. More than medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Quite fruity and slightly tart mead. Refreshing and quite nice.

Bottle courtesy of Kaj. Pours deep ruby red with no head and subtle legs. Smell is fruity with cranberries, soil, lemon zest, alcohol and hints of moss and black currants. Taste is sweet, slightly sour and fruity with cranberries, honey, soil, black currants, alcohol, flower nectar and hints of moist wood. Mouthfeel is tart, tiny boozy, slightly berry skin astringent and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, tiny sour and fruity with cranberries, honey, freshly pressed lemon juice, black currants, hay, alcohol and soil. Quite impressed with this one. Close to the great fruited sweet meads from Kuhnhenn, B. Nektar and Schramm’s that I love. Sweet, heather honey, some berry scent, a bit tart. Tart, berry, red currants, heather honey taste. Medium to tart mouthfeel, tart finish. Warming alcohol.8/4/8/3/16=3.9RerateBottle 75 cl at Sweet & Sour, Sätila, 2014-08-30. Thanks to Kaj (non-ratebeer).Marked 11.5% ABV, earlier noted on RB as 12.7% ABV.Clear fantastic reddish blue color, very petit head. Sweet, honey, berry, alcohol scent. Light tart, berry, a bit sweet taste. Berry, honey aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, tart apple peel bitter finish.Now with an official version and some age to it is even better than the first sample I had!8/5/8/4/17=4.2
