A smooth session strength mild, easy to drink with a deep ruby colour and roasty flavour.

Tap at the Briarbank, Ipswich. Pours very dark ruby brown with a very small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, nut, and dark fruit with moderate roasting and malt. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Towards medium body, slight oily textire, soft carbonation. Not a bad easy drinking mild.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Tangy dark malts. Tangy dark fruits. Tangy bordering sour. Light finish. Pfff, nothing particularly against Briarbank but I’m pretty sick of clunky tangy dark malt beers.
