This 7.0% hazy IPA puts a spotlight on the truly regal hop varietal that is Nelson Sauvin. We were fortunate to work with Garston Hops to directly source the kind of Nelson we were looking for. Garston is one of the most southernmost hop growers in New Zealand, situated on the 45th latitude. This growing climate gives their hops unique and expressive qualities that we love.
45° South uses an ultra pale and fluffy malt character--from Pilsner malt and Oats-- to let the flavors and aromatics shine. Alongside the Nelson, we used some Citra and BRU-1 to punch up the stone fruit aromatics. Flavors and aromas of white wine grape, peach flesh, ripe mango and bright sativa burst from an overly generous dry hopping rate.
