This easy drinking NW style sour ale was aged in rum barrels for 20 months with tangerine zest, then blended with our Apricot Ale. Sweet aromas of tangerine and rum are the first thing you notice as you draw your glass near. A quenching sweet citrus, then rum spice take turns dancing on your palate. Rich rum spice and warmth lead to a lingering sweet tangerine finish like warn sand. Most rum beers only go to 10, ours goes to 11!

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, massive thanks to Jason from the Bay for conveying this one, 08/04/14. Hazed orange with a moderate off white head that clears edgeward. Nose is tarte mandarin, tangerine, light spice, apricot yoghurt, dank wood and must. Taste comprises tangy orange, light spice, bitter citric pangs, light acidity, zingy lemon, orange pith, tarte apples. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light puckerings in a semi drying close. Solid sour.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Another corker from Jason, cheers! Murky orange - amber beer, no real head. Light palate, dry and crisp. Minerals and seltzer. Big tangerine sherbet with lesser tangerine peel. Light crisp finish. A really intense fruity number.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Jason. Pours lightly hazy, deep gold with a frothy, white head. Dynamic fruit aroma, plenty of citrus, tangy lemon, tangerine, straw, a bit of cinnamon, citrus zest. Medium sweet flavor, fairly tangy, some festive spices, tangerine. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, further spices, rich and tangy citrus, zesty lemon peel, soft rindy bitterness. Novel and very nice.

Bottle thanks to Jason. It pours hazy golden orange with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, apricot, peach, tangerine, wood, vanilla, wood, apricot yoghurt and faint acetic. The taste is crisp, tart, tangerine, earth, sherbet, candied fruits, orange peel, some acidity, earth, wood with a dry, sherbets finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pritty freakin tasty.

Oh my god, what's up with these Cascade fruit beers? Little cloudy dark beige to yellow amber beer, no head. Aroma: bubble gum, peach candy, effervescent vitamin tablets, orange and tangerines, and a sort of fake fruit aroma. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: those effervescent vitamin tablets with an industrial orange flavour, that's totally what it tastes like. Sourish, bit lemony, fake orange flavour, unpleasant bitterness. Aftertaste: little sour, medicinal bitterness combined with a citric acidity that reminds me of stomach tablets. Man, this is bad. I am the only one who doesn't like this stuff?

Bottle shared by Ken of Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. The aroma is amazing. Pour is hazy amber with a creamy/foamy white head. Aroma is wonderfully sour tangerine/citrus. Med body. It’s mouth puckering. Sour unripe tangerine with peel. A bit spicy. Heat is not present. Really torques the mouth! Finishes wonderfully.

Bottle - thanks to Homer321 for getting this to me via a long circuituous path - I really enjoyed this one. Pours cloudy orange with a small head that leaves pretty decent lacing. Aroma is fruity, orangelike, maybe tangerine, oak, rum, lemon. Flavor is the same, fruity and medium sweet and lightly tart, a bit of oaky astringence. Rum ever present but not overpowering. Medium body, very bubbly champagnelike mouthfeel. Totally shocked that it is 11% ABV; there is no way to tell from drinking it. This beer does not necessarily fit a mold (which is a good thing), but it really hit the spot for me.

"2011 Project" bottle from the brewery split 2 ways at fridge temp in wine stemware.
A - Minor gushing but I caught it. It’s perhaps the most champagne like beer I’ve ever seen. The amount of bubbles from bottom to top of the glass are so "alka-seltzer" like that the 3 finger head slowly faded to one and sticks around. bubbles fade but are replaced by more. It’s very nice to stare at. Incredibly dark almost reddish orange appearance. Slightly hazy.
S - Acetic nose, hints of spicy peppercorn and, you guessed it, tangerines. Apricot is very present. I dont get a lot of rum, more like a whiskey nose.
T - Lots of rum taste though. Holy boozy. You can taste every bit of the 11% ABV from start to the boozy finish. Fruit juices throughout, most apricot and very little citrus notes. Hint of vinegar but not a lot. Solidly sour and wild with jammy fruit qualities and an overpowering bitterness.
M - Mediu body, very dry with a champagne like carbonation. Minor cough medicine astringency but that must be the ABV.
O - A very nice beer, probably one I would sit on for another 12 months before opening. The booziness is distracting from the fruity qualities.

On tap at the Barrel House. This is an epic beer. It’s not super sour, but highlights a cocktail like fruity and barrel flavor. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A huge perfume nose of tangerine, spices and big rum barrel. The flavor is zesty, orange peel, massive tangerine not oranges, it is clear. Superbly drinkable. I could drink a ton of this. But it would get you smashed. Bonus points. Unique as hell, nobody is making beers like this.
