Aromas are malt, bread and a bit of yeast. Flavors are similar to nose and on the sweet side. Somewhat balanced by enough carbonation and a smidgen of bitter. Pretty basic stuff.

Pour is a hazy copper with a large white head. Aroma is a sweet grainy malt and a little wet paper bag. Flavor is also a sweet grainy malt. Some honey malt with a little spicy bite at the end. Of all these beers you find at Total Wine this might be the best but it is still a long way off from a great beer.

From Belgian Style Ales, lot 1730.
Pours a mostly clear orange with a healthy sized head of foam, with very good lacing and retention.
Smell is malty, bready, sweet, little bit of grain, no obvious bitterness.
The taste is sweetish, malty, bready, light grain, tasty example of the style.
Medium bodied, good level of carbonation, this is very good and I would drink this again.

Dark gold with an enormous fluffy white head that lingered. Yeasty, tangy and sweet with sugar and stone fruit. Very slightly boozy. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

500 ml bottle at Clay and Fire in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is a clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malt honey and maybe an orange floral. The taste is the sweet malt honey and finishes clean with soft floral. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the sweet clean finish. Nice one.

Big 17 oz bottle. Pour is nearly clear pale but with a slight haze. Nose is aged sweet lager. First taste is mild interesting candy, not really sweet, just a little off tart in its own way. In the middle, its gets a little medicine, quite different than other doppels I've tasted. Never really gets in yer face, just different in its own kind of way. Could use a bit more carbonation; has a tad of a smooth oily mouthing coating effect. Yes, I think I'm getting some dried fruit in there near the end. Without some carbonation, its finally getting a little difficult and grating my nerves on the finish. I don't think I could do two of these bottles unless they were really really cold.

Fairly hazy pour, golden to amber color, medium head, modest retention and lace. Caramel on the nose, a touch bready and doughy. Flavor is sweet malts, caramel flavors, more breadiness. Sugar, mild dark fruit. Mild astringency at finish. Low bitterness. It's fine but I'm not going crazy over it.

Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Hazy dark yellow with no sparkle, ring of head and no lacing. Aroma is faint pale/pilsner malt. Taste is sweet corn, pale/pilsner malt. Smooth, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Would have expected more caramel, fig, raisin, etc. so this is a bit weird but maybe a double hellerbock. OK.

Bottle. Thank you Tom on the share. Aroma is bready malt and caramel. Flavor is the same with the addition of some minerals. Simple beer.
