A traditional old-fashioned, full-bodied English IPA. We based it on an old English IPA recipe and use Fuggles and Goldings, but dry hop with US Cluster hops (which were perhaps surprisingly available and used in this country 150 years ago) for a very complex but nicely balanced beer.

Carton thanks to Leighton. It pours clear orange - amber with a tiny head. The nose is earthy, grainy, cereal, honeyed stuff, light spice, floral and earth. The taste is bitter, grainy, floral, soapy, spicy, white peppery spice, chewy aspect, cereal and earth with a dry, chewy finish. Medium body and limited carbonation. A bit messy and earthy. Pass.
