Craft + carry
Duclaw sweet baby pumpkin

Dark brown on black, false pint bottom 14oz pour at craft&carry in hells kitchen.
Smell is inviting. Roasty earth, light vanilla, brown ale & quiet coffee vibes.
Mildly bitter & only faintly sweet. Mellow+ upfront roast, with some restrained sour yam & bittersweet chocolate. Lingering ash astringency. Thin, slightly acidic, not too much too it.
Good.

12oz can - part of beer club selection. Decent - flavor was milder than expected

Black with moderate brown head. Cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, caramel malt, sour milk, and hay aroma. Minimally sweet spice, caramel malt, and mildly bitter dry hay flavor. Light body. Not much to it.

Pours very dark brown. Smells of roast malt, chocolate, and clove. The flavor is similar with malty sweetness well balanced by the roastiness and hops. Spices are noticeable but not terribly strong. No pumpkin? Good porter though.

Dark brown near black from a can with hardly any head. Even with an allergy ridden stuffy nose I'm getting the pumpkin spice olfactory. First taste is displaying some phenol notes on top of a strong porter. Pumpkins spice is there, but that phenolic astringent tang keeps it in the background. Minimum carbonation. Quite surprised they released this batch with that immature brewer character. You'd think they'd get the recipe or procedure right before they canned and sold it. Never did care much for any of the other 3 sweet baby brews I tried but this one's the most difficult, by far. Will not buy again and will not recommend to any of my ratebeerian friends. Think & taste twice before releasing, river horse.
