Not all that experimental; moderate notes of grapefruit and pine backed up by hints of berry and wood shavings, underlined by toasted grain and earth. Nothing wrong with it, but not distinctive in the slightest.

Crisp and clear golden and light copper coloured body, all completely clear, with a rather large and soapy three to four centimetre tall off-white head that is very soapy and leaves an ugly lace on the top. Aroma of crisp grain, light nuts, earth, a hint of resin and some rather pungent fresh-cut grass notes. Medium-bodied; Strong pungent earthy and rustic flavours show the rather strong malt components, but some light sugars are noticeable, and then more pungent hops come through with the floral, grassy and some piney bitterness and alpha acids. Aftertaste is robust and fairly bitter with the malts lending a peaty and malty bite to the strong hops which hit with grass and floral elements, but don't leave too many nice notes at the end. Overall, a decent IPA with some good flavours, but too much of a rustic punch and malt-forward profile to make this a winner, especially with New Belgium's other IPAs generally being much better. An attempt that I didn't care for, but happy to sample! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Harris Teeter in Arlington (Potomac Yard) on 14-July-2020 for US$1,87 sampled at my house here in Washington on 23-July-2020.

Poured a hazy, clear orange color with a small white head. Aroma was pleasantly juicy citrus, balanced with malts. Flavor was a bit earthy? Kind of strange after having two juicy, fruity, tropical IPAs from the same mix-pack.

12 ounce can from Woodman's Appleton, from a Voodoo Ranger 12 Pack, 4/5/20. Hazy copper, large tan head, good retention. Aroma of pale doughy malt, melon, earth, spice, a bit of tropical fruit. Taste is melon, agave, earth, peach skins, a bit of pith. Medium bodied, low to moderate bitterness.

Can from variety pack at Food City. Clear copper with a generous off-white head. Aroma of fresh pine and citrus. The flavor is well balanced with a nice bitter start that goes all the way to the finish with just a touch of malt sweetness in there if you look for it. Good solid, uncomplicated IPA.
