Deep dark brown coloured body with a pretty thick three centimetre tall rich light brown head that leaves a very ugly and large lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of rich lactose here with a bunch of cream and chocolate notes with vanilla of course and seemingly some pistachio notes and not any strawberry in the nose at least, but very rich and ice creamy. Full-bodied; Very rich and strong roasted malt and oatmeal flavours with a ton of lactose and chocolate flavours here with some additional molasses and icing sugar sweetness here that ends with some mild creamy finishes and a lot of malt. Aftertaste is pungent with a bunch of lactose, creamy and sweet notes and a slight chocolate and bitter finish, but very nice throughout. Overall, a very rich, but quite sweet and balanced, nuanced stout with some nutty (pistachio) notes and a touch of anise and licorice at the tail end. I sampled this sixteen ounce pint-sized can purchased from Total Wine in Laurel, Maryland on 09-Februrary-2023 for US$4,79 sampled in my hotel room here in Exmore, Virginia on the Virginia Eastern Shore on 25-February-2023.

Can for 2$. Pour is big and black with a giant foaming head that wants to crawl over the edge of my mug. Somewhat metallic nose. Taste is a little better than expected, since I really despise most of these pastry stout bombs. It actually does have a flavor of Neapolitan ice cream floating around in the background and its somewhat less cloying than most sweet pastries. Much easier to gulp than most pastry stout fer-sher. Not saying I like this, it's just more acceptable and better balanced than most of the domestic stout bombs. And guess what? It even has a little co2 in there to firm up the palate. Of course, there is nothing like a good old plain stout; but whatever: It's a tick and it went down without any gag reflexes.
