Some of us just aren't ourselves before our first cup of coffee. Once the brain gets going it's a whole different story, and how could we not want to extend that passion for mocha into the evening hours. 5am in the Morning uses locally roasted Rwanda Bean coffee and cocoa to accentuate the dark, roasty aromas of a freshly brewed cup of joe & a sweet breakfast pastry. The coffee flows all day around here.

Can (1/30/23) pour from The Beer Store, Salem. It's an opaque dark brown--virtually black--with trace sparkle, 1/2-finger cap of beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong bittersweet coffee (bordering on char), cocoa and vanilla. Taste is dominant bitter coffee over much lesser chocolate and vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and bitter finish as taste. Overall, quite strong but it's too bitter for my taste and carbonation too lively for what I want out of a coffee stout.

16 oz. can. Aroma is moderate coffee and soft chocolate. Decent roasted malt backbone with the coffee, mild chocolate, and undertone of vanilla. Great flavor for a under 6% stout!
