16 oz. can. No aroma until it warms a bit. Then Soft dark fruit. Taste is mild toffee, fig, raisin, caramelized sugar. Body and carbonation are correct. A nicely made dopplebock yet not as bold as it’s German big brothers. (Paulaner, Schloss Eggenberg Samichlaus).

Pours deep mahogany into a stem. Tan head with little retention recedes to nothing. Pit fruit aromas. Soft with hot caramel and dried plums and grapes front to back.

Sample at the source. Dark chestnut in color with a thin off white head that slowly dissipates. Dark caramelized sugars and light raisin and prune fruitiness. Medium body, cleanly fermented, really nice beer. Glad to have something other than an ipa or kettle sour these days especially in the summer!
