Southporter is our interpretation of an American style porter. It is brewed with caramel and chocolate malts that give it sweetness and body, and dosed with house made vanilla extract made of rum that gives the beer a coastal trader spice flavor.

Can date of 11/20/19. Aroma is soft vanilla and spice. Flavor follows with the mellow vanilla, mild chocolate, hint of spice in the finish. The body is correct for the style. Smooth texture and the spice provides balance. Enjoyable.

Can pour in trade with AirForceHops--thanks, Chris! Appearance is opaque black with trace sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width creamy foam light brown head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is pleasant lightly roasted malts and mild vanilla. Taste is strong vanilla with an almost fruity sweetness (the rum?) and roasted malt. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, thin texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish as taste. Overall, a little bit thin in the body and aroma is not that interesting but the taste has a bit of complexity to it. Decent.
