750ml bottle. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Bretty, funky and oaky aroma, fruity hints of pineapple. Taste is initially sweet-ish pale malty and slightly fruity, funky and bretty, hints of pineapple, later dry, more and more oaky, with a touch of leather and even peat, dusty, fusty, yeasty finish. Basic beer is too weak to withstand or assimilate the strong oak notes. [Tried first at FdB: same impression concerning the weakness of the basic beer, the fusty part was non-existent.]

Smooth funky dry beginning. Round and mild, smooth with lots of wood. Hints of funk with lots of wood. Not bad but the ground beer isn’t made for barrel aging

8 3 8 3 16Bottle shared at Festivale der Bierkulturen, Cologne. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, funk, tart light fruit, oak, yeast and vinous notes. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter with light sourness. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Rauchig würziger, spritzig hefiger Beginn. Vollmundig, sehr trocken, mittellanger Nachhall mit wenig Hefe. Wässriger Nachhall. 10/8/8/9/11/8

Hazy straw blond colour. Aroma has light funky Brett. Flavour is similar. Really dry. Light vanilla sweetness.
