Scorched Tundra VII is a coffee stout made by Local Option Bierwerker to celebrate the seventh edition of Scorched Tundra metal festival taking place at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg on March 3rd. The beans - roasted by Dark Matter Coffee Company in Chicago - come from a family operated farm in San Jeronimo Miramar Guatemala, which uses water that is naturally filtered through rocks at a nearby volcano. Fermented with champagne yeast and aged on rum barrels the coffee is incredibly complex with notes of dark fruit, vanilla, and oak. The unique attributes of the coffee complement the base beers’ flavor of European dark chocolate, pitted fruit and rich caramel.
