The Stoneface version of Friend Request, part of a double collaboration project with Jack’s Abby brewing, is a 6.9% ABV saison, brewed with Vienna malt from Maine, Spelt and Rye from Massachusetts, and Cascade hops from Maine. The beer is slightly amber in color, classic saison aroma, dominant bubble gum with slight clove, medium body, leaning towards sweet.

Keg pour into taster cup at NH Brewfest. Appearance is dark orange/light brown with small ring of white head, trace sparkle. Aroma is more restrained caramel than the Jack’s Abby brewed variant, with an "other" sweetness that was a little hard to place--perhaps the sweetness of inner tree bark or sap?, candied sugar?, mint? Taste is caramel with candied sugar/interesting sweetness--both sweet and light--with bubble gum, esters. Palate is medium bodied with average texture, soft-to-average carbonation with sweet finish like the taste. Overall, less richly sweet than the Jack’s Abby variant with more intricacy with the bubble gum and ester quality. Most interesting hard-to-pin-down sweetness. Very good and interesting.

Pours hazy mahogany into a snifter. White head with good retention recedes leaving trailing spiders. Bubblegum and clove aromas. Medium bodied and sweet with bubblegum upfront turning to clove in the medium length finish.

Bottle from Bert’s Hazy deep golden color with a good sized frothy off white head that persists. Earthy light funk pepper and plenty of hubba bubba on the nose. Earthy sweet bread funky with lots of clove and bubble gum for the flavor. Pretty nice saison, could use a bit more pepper for my tastes, but great as is.

Chalumeaux gifted me this bottle, thanks T.J! Amber in color with plenty of fizzy carbonation. Aroma is similar to a Hefeweizen, clove, wheat and the yeast giving that "bubblegum" nuance. Like, it really smells like bubblegum, more so then in some German wheat beers.

Flavor shows me, toasted grain, earthy notes, mild lasting clove finish. Yes, the bubblegum notes are pretty bold in this. This is not at all what I was expecting from these two Brewers. Interesting take on the style.
