650 ml bottle with the date marked April, 2016 on the edge of the label. Hazy Amber colored liquid with normal carbonation. Aroma is grapefruit, orange marmalade and caramel malt.
With the high gravity and malt content, a imperial IPA can get to sweet and boozy. Yeah, that pretty much happens here. Candied oranges, tangerines dipped in sugar with a pine in the finish. The body is medium with the bitterness having a pine character. The bitterness comes off overly aggressive. Astringent. Overall it doesn’t sit real well with me.
A good friend of mine created a home brew that was very similar to this. This has a home brew quality to it. A very good home brew but not a completely refined recipe.

On tap in goblet at Tuckaway Tavern. Aroma is pine, grapefruit, mangos. Appearance is hazy light brown (like cider) with minimal white head/ring, no lacing, indiscernible sparkle. Taste is similar to aroma; alcohol covered well. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture and average carbonation, warmth in the chest after the swallow.. Overall, a strong smelling/tasting beer with nice array of hops.

Bottle from Bert’s Slightly hazy light golden color with a huge frothy bone white head that shows great retention and leaves lots of stickies on the sides of the glass. the nose was initially lemon and grapefruit but more of the resinous pine moved in as my glass sat. Light faint bready crackery maltiness. The flavor has a hint of sweet bread maltiness with a crap load of tangerine, grapefruit and lemon grass. Medium body with a light to moderate level of carbonation. Nice double IPA, I quite enjoyed this.
