Draft at the source. Deep Ruby/ brown color. Aroma is caramel, molasses, weak dark fruits. The flavor is mostly correct for the style. It becomes very sweet, molasses and caramelized malts. Very light bitter hint but not really enough to balance it. Body is on the light side.

Pours deep mahogany into a stem glass. Mocha head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Dark caramel and dusty cocoa aromas. Thin with mild overripe banana and dark chocolate upfront turning to bitter caramel in the doughy finish.

Growler from the brewpub on 05/31/2010. Clear dark brown body with ruby highlights and a small creamy tan head that rapidly fades. Sweet malt aroma with lightly bready, some caramel and light molasses. Sweet toasty and bready flavor with some caramel and light molasses. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.
