Poured from bottle thanks Willrunforbeer effervescent golden pour with a thin white head. Aromas of grain honey and lager yeast. Taste is well balanced and follows aroma. --- Beer merged from original tick of Switchbock on 08 Apr 2016 at 20:49 - Score: 7

Bootle thanks for sharing Willrunforbeer. Clear golden color, thin head. Aroma of German lager yeast, light honey, mild grass.
Flavor is right on the money for the style. Lager yeast with a slight skunk note is the main character. Lighter in body with a sweetness that is grain or corn. ABV is not noticed. Overall as it should be.

This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a hazy semi-dark burnt bronzed golden orange to brown color with a slim finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some messy lacing roaming around the glass.
The smell starts off with a sharp sweet bready to sweet grassy hoppy to malty balance.
The flavor wraps it up and asks is this a Maibock or a Kellerbier? I say that because of the lower body on this beer. Doesn’t quite taste like a maibock/hellerbock as the toffee, bready, biscuity flavors hold tight around the sweet grassy flavors. Good carbonation on the feel.
Overall, hard to rate to style as ratebeer says maibock but the brewery and I both say Kellerbier, as there’s not enough body, heavier caramel/toffee and even the roasty portion of some nuts to be a maibock. I’d have again for me. Enjoyable offering.
