22 oz. bottle from the Beer Store, Nashua, NH. My Guinness pint glass shows the typical stout with a tiny ring of white head leaving no lace. Nose is a solid amount of roasted malt with plenty of chocolate. Flavor is roasted barley, espresso coffee notes, chocolate and some coffee bitterness in the finish. Body is medium leaning on the thin side. Carbonation is soft. Texture is dry. Overall I like the coffee flavors and would say that is a slightly above average standard stout even with the thin body.

Pours a solid black with a thinnish tan head that slowly recedes to minimal lace on the glass. Heavy coffee aroma with hints of roast, cream, cereal grain and light fruit. The flavor reminds me of weak coffee mostly. Espresso with a light bit of dark fruit and roast. Medium to thin body with a moderate level of carbonation and a roasty watery mouthfeel. This beer needs a bit of dialing in. The label calls this an espresso oatmeal stout, but it really drinks more like a dry stout. Missing is that creamy richness that I expect from oatmeal, and the addition of the coffee thins the hell out of the body here. Bump up the crystal and oatmeal or mash a bit warmer and this one could hold some promise as the coffee does come through nicely without any acrid bitterness.
