Half growler directly from the brewery. Consumed 4 hours after it was poured on 8 Dec 2012. Thin beige head on an extremely dark black liquid. Nose is chocolate, roast and mild lactose. Flavor has good amounts of chocolate in front of the sip with light coffee and lactose sweetness on the back side. The herbs give it some much need bittering for balance. This brew has a nice smooth, silky mouthfeel. A large amount of carbonation in the tap system made the growler fill a bit slow but everything turned out pretty well here. I shared this half growler at a party with friends and it was a hit.
