Bottle from McHughs. Medium brown with a thin head. Aroma is thin fruit. Flavour is yeasty dark fruits, dry spice, fruit cake finish. Yeasty and tangy, very nice.

Bottle from Daly’s Drinks, Boyle [241215] Bottle 499 of 1800
Dark caramel brown, soft haze, off white head, some lacing
Aroma of dark fruity malts, caramel, bit vinous, yeast esters, raisin, quite complex, light spicy, Belgian quad notes, no booze
Taste of dark fruity malts, rich dark fruit cake malts, soft spicy, raisin, caramel, fruity yeast, dab of candi sugar, Quadruple notes, delicious and moreish, superb malts in this
Palate - Soft carb, medium to full body, so so smooth, fairly sweet, almost no alcohol, cask-like texture in mouth (I did pour in a pint glass, then transferred to smaller glass). Finish - Well this is where it gets special - even more rich cake fruit malt, raisin, soft spicy, rich smooth complex malt linger
Overall - First sip and I knew it was a 4.0 or more. Just got better with the drinking. Fantastic job. Certainly in the top 2 or 3 Irish beers I’ve had.
