Golden color, small white head. Sweet, honeyish, a bit grainy aroma. Sweetish malty, a bit honeyish, low bitterness.

Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Starts hoppy-grasy, a bit moldy-soapy. Finish too unbalanced, some metallically notes. Not my favourite!

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a big and dense, minimal off-white foamy head. Moderately sweet and strawy malty aroma with shy herbal hops in the background. Slightly sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a mild carbonation. Malty strawy taste with a tinge of cara-malt and subtle fruity notes; mildly sweet and bitter, slightly herbal hoppy finish. A decent Helles. 29.X.09

Bottle: Clear, golden, quickly collapsing white head; solid pale-malty nose with a touch of almonds and grassy hops; medium bodied, moderate sweet-bitter flavour; delicate hoppy traces in the malty and almondy finish. Decent and pleasant...........

bottle, bought at the brewery. Johann Turmair (15th century) was born in Abensberg and therefore called "Aventinus" ("der Abensberger"). Clear deep golden yellow, large white head. Malty-fruity nose. Medium-bodied, solid malty background with pleasant fruity hints and rather shy floral-citrusy hop flavours. Lively carbonation.
