Dark and full-bodied with a distinct coffee-like aroma. This stout has a rich dark malt and caramel flavor with a dry-roasted bitterness in the finish. Deep ruby to opaque black in color with a creamy tan head.

Dark pour and some oamy head that lingers. Nose is chocolate and earth. Earthy taste and subdued chocolate, malt and bread. Light bodied. 3.5% wow didn’t realize that.

4 oz. poor as part of a flight at the brewery. Opaque dark brown with ring of beige head. Aroma is strong roasted malt/coffee, mild anise. Taste follows aroma without the anise. Smooth, soft carbonation. Decent for style.

Tap @ the brewpub. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, coffee, licorice, hops and has a nice roasty finish.

At the source: very light dry stout. Not much going on here. Drinkable, however.

This beer made me angry, a good idea gone bad. Deep black, but noticeably watery with a clumpy off white head. Aroma might be the best part with nuts, chocolate and roasted malts in the nose. Flavor is really weak and exactly the same. Dry but very light, 3.5 ABV does nothing for the flavor or finish. I was extremely disappointed.
