Continuance is our series of blended Imperial Stouts, Barleywines and other Spirit Barrel-Aged beers. Blend #5 consists of threads which include two new experimental English Barleywine recipes aged in Willett Bourbon and Blood Oath Sherry Barrel Bourbon. The threads rested in oak for more than a year, before being thoughtfully infused with Barrel Aged Maple Syrup, Ugandan and Tanzanian Vanilla Beans, and Fresh Ground Cinnamon before being blended and shared with you.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is complex and elegant, with big cinnamon upfront, followed by sticky toffee, caramel, bourbon, and a touch of sherry-like oxidation. Flavour is very rich, with the cinnamon dominating, followed by caramel, sticky toffee, vanilla beans, and oak. Much more cinnamon than expected but it works cohesively with the vanilla and massive malt bill. Wonderful.

Bottle thanks to Andrew. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is licorice, wood, maple, vanilla, booze. Similar flavors to nose, dry, very nice.

Rated at Side Project Brewing. Sweetish, malty and slightly spicy with hints of prunes, raisins, cinnamon, vanilla, bourbon and maple syrup, some caramel and toffee. Bottle at Side Project Cellar. Dark brown with beige head. Caramel, toffee, dates and raisins, some figs, cinnamon, medium sweetness. Works nicely together.
