Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery Shop. The label describes this as a 'deconstructed stout', however it's not served on a slate, consisting of a trio of a ramakin of toasted barley, with a malty aioli and a yeast compote, as you'd perhaps expect. Aroma of chocolate digestive, with some coffee. Dark and glossy. Thick foamy head. Sweet - creamy chocolate - with a bitter espresso and burnt caramel finish. Medium bodied. Creamy but still a bit light for a stout. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Enjoyed this, just could have done with more body.
