Rich, dark and roasty with a smooth chocolate malt character. Roasted crystal malt and English hops provide a stone fruit and berry finish.

Cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown with a small khaki/tan head. Aroma of chocolate malts, light suggestion of cigar smoke. Rounded taste with a chocolatey sweetness and the berry note from the description in prominence at the drying bitter finish. Slight body with some soft carbonation. Hard to fault this porter.

Slightly thin for it's strength, but delicious nonetheless

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 4/89/2018. Near black in colour, with a thin, beige head. Toasty malts, dark berry fruits, warming alcohol in the finish. Decent, but I preferred Iron Pier's stout.

Tap at FdB. Darkest brown colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Rich, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, chocolate, an earthy nuttily touch of Brazil nut. Taste is chocolately, dark malty, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, a touch of Brazil nut, bitter hoppy counterpart. Quite rich and intense.
