A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet caramel chocolate malt with light butterscotch. In mouth, a sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee notes, a bit cloying. On tap at brewery.

Enjoyed from growler at Goose Island Stout Fest 2012 in Chicago, IL. Appearance is black, moderate consistency, thin white rim. Aroma of light oat, bit of chocolate, smells nice. Taste is really good, uniquely complex, chocolate, nuts, oat, relatively light considering other high ABV beers I’ve had today, enjoyable.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of roasted malt, dark bread and other dark grains. Flavor was similar with a bit of oat coming out, but mainly dark grains and roasted malts dominate the beer.
