(On tap at the brewpub, March 8 2014) Pours a clear dark brown with a bit of bubbly off-white head. Aroma has roasty coffee bean, citrus rind and flesh, some herbal/floral character, bit of dark sugar/molasses malts. Flavour has lots of citrus hops, slight pine and mint, along with a roasty coffee/chocolate malt profile with just a little sweetness. Finish had citrus pith and ’green’ hop notes, moderately bitter, some roast and a little alcohol heat. Fairly full-bodied with low carb, smooth. Nice integration of roast malts and reasonably bold hops, not quite a black IPA but in the same ballpark. Tasty stuff.

A dark brown IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice chocolate coffee with loads of floral hops, meaty and licorice notes and menthol. In mouth, a smooth chocolate malt with a nice herbal floral hops, molasses, treacle, and alcohol warmth. On tap at A Night with Amsterdam and Friends, Feb 2 2013.

Not quite sure how to place this one.kind of a floral bitter beer. Not sure if it quite jumps the shark, if its witchshark we are referring to. Pours very dark with wonderful carpet lacing and creamy head. Smells boozy and floral. Tase is bitter, bordering on astringency without being unpleasant. Adds a grapefruit peel note. Medium to low carbonation. On tap at brewpub.
