Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark copper/almost red color with a finger’s worth of white foaminess. Sly lacing.
The aroma has some toast, herbal qualities, caramel/toffee malts and a slight bready crispness.
The flavor leaned towards the combination of those previously mentioned aromas in a sweet sort of way. Nice herbal to nutty to caramel aftertaste with a subsiding finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, decent Irish red ale that I could see myself having again.
