Growlette from my buddy.
This was poured into a pilsner glass.
The appearance was a ruddy semi-hazy burnt orange almost red hued color. Thin white foamy finger’s worth of head slowly dissipates.
The aroma surrounds some sweet to smokey meat to breadiness. Sly crisp semi-earthy to sweet yet bitter grassy hops.
The flavor brings all of those previously mentioned aromas together nicely. Crisp sweet aftertaste with sly sweet meaty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice crisp smooth sweet feel to it’s sessionability. Low carbonation helps to yield to a sly stickiness.
Overall, nice rauchbier as far as I know. There might be a little bit more of the grassy hops than most rauchbiers, but I still say still, very nicely done.

A pale golden lager with a thin creamy white, lacing. A lightly pungeant smokey aroma, diminishing over time. In mouth, a very light yet smokey lager, a bit thin but a good rauchbier for beginners. On tap at brewpub, Nov. 30 2008, with Sponge and Goldorak.
