On tap Blind Tiger NYC 10/04 and bottle from Willblake which I took to Noogfest. Opaque black pour that pushes a small but creamy tan head to the top. Complex aroma with roast malt, coffee and chocolate. The flavor follows with just a touch of butterscotch but it all is put together nicely in a thick full bodied brew. The bottle was not quite as intense as the tap version, but very tasty.

The last of my Secret Santa beers which makes this #12. Many thanks to Jason (Dorwart) for the taste of the East Coast! Deep opaque brown body, medium tan/ochre head. Light lacing. Rich aroma of coffee, dark rich roast, molasses, a touch of vanilla, and chocolate. I could smell this without drinking it for some time. Rather delicately rich body, with emphasis on chocolate, molasses and a slight tart dark fruit kick before opening up to become more Baltic Porter-ish with smoked flavors, toast, and herbal hops. Very oily and a bit salty/leathery on the finish, yet delicate and velvety throughout. Classy and delicious.

A black beer with a brown disappearing head. The aroma is of chocolate and butter with hints of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and coffee, leading to a dry hoppy end.
