(On tap) As a supplement to his standard range of beers master brewer Garrett Oliver runs a series of special brews under the name "Brewmaster’s Reserve" only brewed as draught beer in limited quantities for short term availability - Organic porter is one of them. Very dark close to being completely black. Typical notes of coffee and chocolate with a fine lightbrown head.

April 2004. Deep dark ale with a moka head. Sweet malt balls aroma. Chocolate and butterscotch taste with oily texture, and light hops in finale. Mediun bodied.

Brooklyn brewed this all organic beer, supposedly to celebrate the fact that their brewery is now the first building in NYC to be 100% wind-powered - what better way to celebrate than with a great porter like this? - heavy aroma of cocoa and coffee - very roasty flavor, quite dry, almost bitter, no sweetness that I can really detect, unlike some of the other great porters I've had - bit of a dry finish, leaving a chocolate flavor lingering on the tongue - good stuff.
