Reviewed from notes.
On tap at C.H. Evans on 11/20/2021
Appearance: dark orange color with a thin rim of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet apples, crushed clove; caramelized sugars; sweet wafery malts and a little bit of caramel/toffee malt notes
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a huge sweetness but seems to push the spices further back in there; finishes very sweet again through the apples, caramel tones and sweet wafery malt tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; some smoothness and for the most part nothing really distracting
Overall: not really a Belgian Dubbel but it wasn't brewed bad, it's just something else.

April 2004. Dark golden ale with a light fruity malt aroma. Light hops and fruits (apples?), cloves, and caramel. Light bodied. Not bad but it isnt a Dubbel.
