This Teutonic take on the traditional IPA features spicy German grown hops and an expressive Kolsch yeast. The result is a golden beer with a moderate bitterness and an intensely fruity aroma reminiscent of raspberry and lemon peel. Prost!

1,100th rating! 100th IPA rating (new style definitions)! Pours an amber from a bottle, aroma is spicy noble hops. Flavor starts off like itβs going to be a natural ginger ale or something soda-y like that, but it turns into more of a dry, Euro-style IPA after that. Good beer.

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving scant sheets. Sweet caramel and tropical fruit aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and hay upfront turning to earthy hops in the lasting finish.

Not really very IPA-like. This tastes much more like a typical German lager. Pours a very light golden yellow, with almost no head. Aroma and flavor are very grassy. Not that great.

Bottle. Orange caramel malt and grass/orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Moderately sweet orange/grapefruit caramel malt and moderately bitter lemon peel/grass flavor. Nice body. Earthy IPA - very pleasant.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a very slightly hazy dark golden color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was musty with egg white, citrus and grass. The flavor was dryish with egg white, citrus and grass. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

I freakin love this beer - lately it seems SN has been nailing everything Germanic, thinking of those o-fests. Anyway, this features a nice noble hop nose and flavoring, somewhat catty and sulfurous. Flavor is a lightish bready malt, very clean, provides a nice solid backbone without being thin but still lets the hops shine. Excellent balance and drinkability. Hazy golden color, small head but dense creamy foam.

12oz bottle. Medium bodied, unique IPA. Certainly captures a more European feel, more malt depth, new school German hops. Mellow raspberry tones as the description states. Pretty solid beer.
