Cask at White Horse, Hedgerley, Bucks. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium bubbly beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, hint of liquorice. Pleasant enough stout.

Can from Great Grog. Black body with a thick beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, copper and liquorice. Flavour of brown bread and lightly roasted malt. Medium body with a slick texture. Very fizzy. It’s a little overcarbonated but this is a solid, well made stout.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours pretty much black with a thick, billowing brown head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, coffee grounds, ashy, charred vibes, cacao nibs and some umami. The taste is dry, pleasing hit of bitterness which linger, dark roasted malt, charred, ash , umami, toasted oak, charred, liquorice, coffee grounds, cacao nibs and peppery spice with a drying, bitter roasted finish. Average body and moderate fluffy carbonation. Quite a robust stout actually. Decent gear.
