Dark brown, near black, with a tight creamy tan head and creamy coffee and roasted malt on the nose. Creamy and smooth, some sweet malt up front, coffee and chocolate notes before a little kick of bitterness and a dry, slightly bitter finish

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - mat black with a thin tan head. Nose - brown bread with an edge of toffee. Taste - a wee bit of molasses, then burnt wood and roast. Palate - medium bodied, roasty and smoky finish. Overall - it's ok. Decent example of the style.
