Traditional Scottish premium export ale. Characterful roast and luscious caramel notes from the malts blend beautifully, balanced together by a generous addition of hops.

Clear, dark amber with a solid head. Malty aroma. Flavour is malty first, with some toffee and a bit of biscuit, but it's the malt which leads the show and lingers. Very sessionable.

Tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours a beautiful reddish dark brown, with whitish foam. Aroma is coffee and licorice. Body is average, with no carbonation. Taste is moderately sweet and roasty. Final is average in intensity, but leaves some biscuits feeling.

Can from Against The Grain. Clear ruby/amber body with a beige head. Fine carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, bread and biscuit. Flavour of tea and toffee. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. A nice, rich beer that belies the low ABV.
